Star Trek Day brings us a new trailer for season 3 of Star Trek: Discovery.

Star Trek has been on our screens and in our hearts for 54 years and this was rightly celebrated on Star Trek Day which took place on 8th September 2020. As most of you will know, that was the air date of the first Star Trek episode, ‘The Man Trap’ way back in 1966.

To Celebrate this milestone the good folks over at CBS put on quite the show in the form of a series of panels featuring those that have made Star Trek possible from series creators such a

s Mike McMahan, the showrunner for Star Trek: Lower Decks and Alex Kurtzman, the man in the captains chair of the Star Trek Universe to the actors who have portrayed our favourite characters on screen.

The event was hosted by the ever amazing Wil Wheaton and daughter of Star Trek: The Next Generation actor Levar Burton, Mica Burton. The first panel kicking of the next 3 hours was that of Star Trek: Discovery. With a quick hello by Sonequa Martin-Green, she introduced the new and exclusive season 3 trailer which you can see below thanks to the official twitter account of Star Trek:

The crashed ship! Is that Saru with captains pips? Talk of an event that devastated the Federation!

Impressed?

I certainly am. It did take me a while to get into the first season of Discovery and I believe it really found its stride in season 2. Now free from canon the writers are able to trailblaze a new frontier of story telling; the cast is strong, full of good actors who are developing great characters and I am excited to see where they go.
