The Build-up to Star Trek: Discovery

David Milburn

With Star Trek: Discovery season 3’s premier just around the corner, we thought we would collate all images and videos released so far in the build up to episode one.

For those in the US they get to see the first episode of Season 3 on Thursday 15th which at time of writing is tomorrow. So they will have seen everything that happens a whole 24 hours before we do in the UK when its broadcast on Netflix, but at least we have been included in all the build up to the shows new season. Sometimes we can be left behind especially when it comes to video clips due to them being region locked, something I was frustrated a lot of the time in the build up to season 2.

As part of our own excitment we have collected together all the cool bits that have been showcased via the twitter accounts of Star Trek and Star Trek CBS respectivly.

First off, character recaps.

If like me you dont have the time to do a complete re-watch of seasons 1 and 2 (although I will be watching the last two epiosde from the last series) to catch up, then thank for putting together some nice easy to watch video reminders of what the crew got up to last time out.

Next is some videos that were released over the past week, the first being a new teaser trailer and the other was the first 2 minutes of the opening episode which was gifted to us during the New York Comic Con virtual panel.

Below is a selection of images from the show, including new screenshots from the pilot episode ‘That Hope is You’ and a collection of brand new character portraits.

Finally. Released today the opening credits with new animations and changes in the imagery that we have seen from previous credit sequences. For instance new tech and a change in colour for the crystals.

With one day to go for US and 2 for the Uk, are you looking forward to the return of Michael Burnham and the rest of the USS Discovery crew? Let us know in the comments below!
