Jonathan Frakes and his Q movie pitch, DC Fontana and Rene Auberjonois remembered and a funny series of adverts pitting Trek against Wars… sort of.

The end of another week in Trek and below are some more news items picked up from the Star Trek Universe.

Jonathan Frakes pitched for Q to be the villain of a Next Generation feature film.

While appearing at the recent Next Generation cast reunion courtesy of Galaxy Con, Jonathan Frakes while in discussion with returning Q actor John De Lancie, revealed that he once pitched the idea for Q to be to be the big bad in the second TNG movie. The Galaxy Con moderator ask both guests to clear up that he had heard the second film was going to be the “ultimate Q Adventure” to wit Frakes replied

That was my pitch. Well, from my good fortune of getting involved with the movies. I kept saying, “When is our finest nemesis is going to be in the movies?” I’m still surprised that wasn’t so.

Ultimately, we had Picards other nemesis from the TV series in the Borg and we got one of the best Star Trek feature films of all time on top of it. It would, however, have been great to see Q in a Trek film. Maybe it’s not too late…

Star Wars v Star Trek for the ultimate food delivery

That’s right, we finally get to see what Star Wars v Star Trek would look like on the screen… Sort of. Mark Hamill and Sir Patrick Stewart brough nerdom to a frenzy when the news was released that they would be both appearing in some very funny Uber Eats adverts. They can be seen in the video below and what’s more, during an interview about the campaign with Mens Journal, Sir Patrick Stewart had this to say

I will admit that, at least for us on Star Trek, we have fantasied about a combined universe between Star Wars and Trek movie. There have been a lot of ideas thrown about on putting together two iconic universes and having all of these great characters coming into contact. I would personally get such a kick out of that.

Hope for a crossover then? Maybe not.
